This project is a site specific, design-build intervention into the landscape, exploring the nature of temporary dwelling for a night. The terraced platforms were inspired by the rolling hills of San Luis Obispo and designed to the slope of the hill. During the day, the platforms provide seating and allow different vantage points of the canyon; during the night, they are surfaces upon which to sleep and gaze at the night sky. The design was centered around a minimalist idea of dwelling, one that not only allowed as much exposure and interaction with the natural elements as possible, but also with each other. All parts of the project were carried to the site by a member of the team.
