This luminaire is an exploration primarily focused upon achieving a soft, glowing modulation of light through varying apertures. The pod contains an inner and outer shell.  The two shells are formed from individual twisting, modulated strips. The inner shell serves as a core for the housing of lights. The exterior acts as the modulator of light, In order to achieve varieties in intensity of light diffusion, several modules in the pod have been thickened by a second layer, thus darkening areas of the pod. This thickening also begins to provide rigidity to the shell so it is able to maintain its intended form. The pod is constructed of 1 ply Bristol paper. The Bristol provides enough stiffness to be structural but also possesses enough translucency for light transmittance as well.
